Artist's Comments

Ok, so, I decided this time around, for the sequal to my published fantasy novel I'd actually get around to creating a proper realism painted cover with people on it rather than tacking together a lazy excuse for a lion like i did the first one >.> This is phase one, a pencil sketch i've done of the main character Halleaon. I still need to tweak some stuff and add in a background before I get to painting it digitally but I'd though I'd share and ask for comments. It's been so freaking long since i last did realism >.<

I'm posting this here rather than in scraps because knowing me, i'll probably never get beyond this point and if that's the case i'd rather it didn't dissapear into the abyss of the never seen scraps. For now i'm presuming this finished >.> because i'm the world's laziest artist.

An awesome pencil sketch! Considering your skills with digital painting, I can't wait to see how it turns out. :D

I have spent my entire life waiting for something. But it is only at the end that I realise that 'something' has been with me all along, offering kind words, encouragement and even quietly pointing me in the right direction...

Think it looks incredible. Only nitpick is the throat. It seems too long and a bit manly, almost like it's too thick. If you brought up the collar bone (i believe that's the shaded portion I see down below there) a bit I think it would fix both the length and thickness. Other then that I think it's lovely and I'll kick you in the shin if you don't finish :p <3

Her jaw seems to jut out a little too much :/ If you were to draw her exactly the same from a regular side profile angle, I think you'd see that once you got past the eyebrow, everything kind of sticks out too far. The eyelid is fantabulous, by the way ^.^
